Qualifications
  • Academic Qualifications: A degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Experience: Knowledge in database administration and support. At least 3 years working experience in database administration for key database platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
  • Implement database strategies, framework and standards; and ensure the database procedures and its related documentation is up to date by leveraging on database technology and capabilities to align with the business objective.
  • Provide first level support for database administration, service request, problem and incident management (troubleshooting, problem identification, investigation, resolution) to ensure business continuity, high availability and sustained performance of the Bank’s primary functions.
  • Administer Database Management System (DBMS) software solutions and services and manage the database software installation, creation, and configuration to ensure resiliency of database infrastructure and its related components.
  • Conduct capacity planning and sizing, database software inventory record and tracking; and perform impact analysis of changes for any database system components or configuration to align with the established database architecture for the Bank’s IT infrastructure.
  • Perform health checks and database maintenance which includes ensuring databases are backed up successfully and to perform restore or its recovery if required, to eliminate known problems, increase database service availability and system performance to prevent business disruption.
  • Undertake research and feasibility study on new releases of databases and its tools to ensure its reliability, agility and resiliency for faster business innovation.
  • Manage database security operations to ensure compliance with database standards and security controls.
