Job summary

A leading EHS management firm in Malaysia is seeking an EHS Manager to establish and implement their safety management system. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, managing contractors, and organizing training programs to enhance safety awareness. The ideal candidate must have a diploma or above, at least 5 years of experience, familiar with Malaysian regulations, and strong communication skills. Proficiency in English, and preferences for Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia are advantageous. Immediate availability is preferred.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Establish and implement the campus' EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) management system, ensuring compliance with Malaysian regulations (e.g., DOSH, DOE, BOMBA).
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and rectify potential safety hazards.
  • Manage the safety performance of contractors and outsourced teams, ensuring all operations adhere to EHS requirements.
  • Develop emergency response plans and organize emergency drills (e.g., fire safety, chemical handling).
  • Lead accident investigation and reporting, and drive the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Organize EHS training programs to enhance safety awareness among employees and outsourced personnel.
  • Liaise with Malaysian government authorities, submit relevant application documents, and cooperate with inspections and evidence collection.
  • Manage the campus' environmental matters (e.g., waste disposal, wastewater discharge, noise control) to ensure regulatory compliance.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: Diploma or above in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Work Experience: At least 5 years of EHS management experience, in data centers or large-scale industrial projects is preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiar with Malaysian safety and environmental regulations, such as DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, etc.
  • Professional Competencies: Proficient in accident investigation, hazard identification, emergency management, and environmental compliance management.
  • Communication & Coordination: Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively liaising with government authorities, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficient in English communication, proficiency in Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia is preferred.
  • Certifications: Valid Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) certificate issued by the Malaysian government or other relevant EHS certifications.
  • Responsibility: Strong sense of responsibility, safety awareness, and execution capability.
  • Able to start immediately will be an advantage.
