About the Role
As an Executive in the Customer Data Platform (CDP) team, you will sit at the intersection of data, marketing automation, and customer experience. You will own the technical and operational execution of campaigns, govern CDP usage, and support organization-wide marketing decisions using data, BI tools, and code (Python/SQL). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on data work, building automation, experimenting (A/B tests), and optimising e-commerce journeys across email, app, and web.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Data Platform Operations & Governance
- Govern the organisation’s CDP usage for marketing and CRM.
- Build, manage, and optimise customer segments using customer event and behavioural data.
- Configure, test, and adjust web and in-app pop-ups using the CDP’s template editor and front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Ensure data and segment logic are correctly implemented and aligned with business rules and compliance requirements.
- Data Management, BI & Analytics
- Handle cross-department data requests: gather, organise, and deliver accurate customer behaviour data to inform targeted marketing efforts.
- Use BI tools such as Google Looker Studio (Google Data Studio) to build dashboards and visualise performance.
- Write and optimise SQL / SQLite queries to extract and manipulate data for analysis and reporting.
- Use Python and libraries (e.g. pandas, NLTK, scikit-learn) to analyse campaign performance, run models, and optimise email/App Push performance (e.g. sentiment analysis, subject line optimisation).
- Marketing Automation & Campaign Execution
- Act as a core execution and governance owner for:
- o Email marketing / EDM campaigns
- o App Push campaigns
- o Website customer journeys and on-site messages
- Configure and execute campaigns, including:
- o Audience selection and segmentation
- o Template setup (HTML/CSS-based emails, pop-ups)
- o Triggers and journey flows
- Conduct A/B testing and multivariate experiments to optimise:
- o Subject lines, content, CTAs, and layouts
- o Communication timeframes and tempos
- o Channel mix (email vs app vs web)
- Optimisation, Insight & Strategy Support
- Perform marketing analytics and e-commerce optimisation to improve conversion, click-through, and engagement.
- Conduct sentiment analysis and content performance reviews to refine messaging and templates.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to marketing and management for:
- o Targeting strategy
- o Channel mix and frequency
- o Lifecycle and retention campaigns
- Serve as a “goalkeeper” for organisation-wide marketing campaigns, ensuring they are backed by solid data and proper segmentation.
- Reporting & Operations
- Monitor data inputs and campaign performance, and produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Support member acquisition and onboarding journeys within the CDP and marketing automation tools.
- Use tools such as Microsoft Power Automate (or similar) to streamline repetitive processes where relevant.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties to support CDP, marketing automation, and CRM operations.
Requirements
Must-Have Technical & Functional Skills
- Hands-on experience or strong capability in:
- o Marketing Automation / CDP platforms (campaign setup, journeys, segmentation)
- o Email Marketing & Email Campaigning
- o App Push notifications and in-app journey configuration
- o Customer Data & Marketing Analytics
- Strong skills in:
- o SQL / SQLite / SQLite3
- o Python (for data analysis, automation, and basic modelling)
- o Google Looker Studio / Google Data Studio for dashboarding and reporting
- Front-end and template skills:
- o HTML, CSS, JavaScript (for email templates, pop-ups, and web journeys)
- Experience/interest in:
- o A/B testing and experimentation
- o Email strategy, send-time optimisation, cadence/tempo design
- o E-commerce optimisation (conversion, funnel performance)
- Solid foundation in data analysis, including cleaning, transforming, and interpreting customer data.
Tools & Platforms (Nice to Have)
- Experience with Microsoft Power Automate or similar automation tools.
- Familiarity with NLTK, scikit-learn or related Python libraries for text and predictive analysis.
- Exposure to CRM, CDP, or ESP (Email Service Provider) platforms.
Education
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Analyst, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Marketing, or other related technical/analytical fields.[/p]
· Candidates from other disciplines are welcome if they can demonstrate strong skills in Python, SQL, and data/marketing analytics.
· Fresh graduates with strong projects, internships, or portfolios in data + marketing/automation are encouraged to apply.
Language & Communication
· Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin (optional).
· Strong communication and listening skills to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Mindset & Soft Skills
· Comfortable working with large, messy, or legacy datasets and fixing data issues.
· Curious, structured, and problem-solving oriented (“forensic” mindset for root-cause analysis).
· Able to balance speed vs accuracy in a fast-paced retail/O2O environment.
· Collaborative attitude and willingness to work closely with marketing, IT, product, and management.
