Job Summary
- The Creative Lead plays a critical leadership role within the studio, overseeing a team of art directors and copywriters across creative discipline. This role combines creative excellence with operational and technical acumen—ensuring high-quality creative outputs, efficient workflows, and strong adoption of tech, AI, and automation tools.
- As a key driver of creative standards and innovation, the Creative Lead acts as a mentor, quality gatekeeper, and problem-solver—championing smarter, faster, and more scalable ways of working.
Position Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage the creative team’s day-to-day operations, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Enforce and uphold creative standards and best practices across all deliverables.
- Support onboarding and upskilling of team members, ensuring consistency in quality and workflow.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and problem-solving skills, maintaining calm and professionalism under pressure.
- Inspire a mindset of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
Creative & Workflow Oversight
- Review briefs, concepts, and design outputs to ensure alignment with brand, client objectives, and creative strategy.
- Oversee design across multiple platforms, ensuring responsive design principles are applied effectively as aspect ratios change.
- Guide team members on hierarchy of design, composition, and atomic design principles for modular creative builds.
- Ensure placeholder-based builds (generalized assets) are used effectively to enable scalable and automated workflows.
- Drive collaboration between creative, production, and technology teams to ensure end-to-end alignment.
Tech, Tools & Innovation
- Champion the integration of AI, automation, and tech tools within the creative workflow to enhance speed, consistency, and scalability.
- Understand and apply atomic design and modular build systems to improve efficiency and reuse.
- Confidently use spreadsheets to manage automation inputs and data-driven creative templates.
- Demonstrate strong prompting ability—able to explain creative intent verbosely and translate design needs for AI-assisted tools.
- Break down designs, assets, and shots into their component parts for AI-based generation or automation pipelines.
- Show initiative in troubleshooting—able to identify and fix simple syntax or workflow errors before escalation.
- Continuously explore new tools, platforms, and methodologies to keep the studio future ready.
Quality & Compliance
- Conduct quality checks to ensure all creative outputs meet brand and brief requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of work and proactive communication of blockers or risks.
- Drive timesheet and workflow compliance within the creative team.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Proven experience in a creative production or design leadership role.
- Strong leadership and management capabilities, with ability to enforce standards and foster collaboration.
- Deep understanding of responsive design, atomic design principles, and design hierarchy.
- Tech-savvy with strong working knowledge or exposure to AI and automation tools in design workflows.
- Confident working with data and spreadsheets to support automation workflows.
- Strong prompting skills—able to articulate creative requirements clearly for AI-assisted production.
- Initiative to self-learn and troubleshoot, proactive in problem-solving and continuous upskilling.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills, able to guide teams across disciplines and markets.
Education
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in design, Visual Communication, or related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
