Job summary

A leading multinational financial services company is seeking a Contingent Legal Counsel for a 3-month contract in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The role involves drafting and reviewing legal agreements, conducting legal research, and advising on legal risks. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor of Laws and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Effective communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia are essential. This opportunity is open to Malaysian citizens only.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of PQE onwards.
  • Experience in insurance business and drafting of insurance agreements is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and review a wide range of legal agreements.
  • Carry out legal research on legal issues.
  • Provide legal solutions to management and stakeholders.
  • Advise the business on updates in the law.

Responsibilities
  • Drafting and reviewing on wide range of legal agreements, including IT agreements, procurement type services agreements, collaboration agreements, confidential information and other similar related agreements.
  • Carrying out legal research in relation to legal issues arising from legal agreements/documents and business operations.
  • Providing legal solutions to management and stakeholders, including advising on legal risks, contractual obligations and strategies to enable overall attainment of business goals.
  • Reporting, stamping.
  • Advising the business on updates and development in the law.
  • Any other duties of an in-house counsel.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB), or equivalent LLB qualifications from local or overseas higher learning institutions.
  • 3 years of PQE onwards.
  • Experience in corporate and commercial matters.
  • Experience in insurance business and drafting of insurance agreements is not a prerequisite but an additional advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • A team player, resourceful and able to work with minimal supervision.
