Job description

Our client is one of the leading companies when it comes to the manufacturing industry. Due to expansion plans, they are currently looking for an Indirect Commodity Manager to join their growing company. This role will be based in Penang.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle strategic sourcing for capital equipment, IT, infrastructure, real estate, professional service such as HR, Legal, etc.
• Formulate and implement global category strategies, perform spend analysis, and categorize suppliers accordingly.
• Drive cost optimization through savings initiatives, standardization of facility equipment brands, and effective contract negotiations or tendering processes.
• Accountable for monitoring Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance metrics, while leading the analysis and decision-making process for supplier selection, performance management, and issue or crisis resolution.

Skills & Experience Required:

• 5+ years of experience in strategic procurement or commodity management (within the manufacturing industry).
• Experience in STRONG indirect commodity management across any pillar.
• Strong experience within the electronics industries is preferred.
• Proven ability to negotiate effectively and manage supplier relationships.
