Job description
Overview

Provide leadership, direction and coordination of operational activities within the team, including driving change and optimizing service delivery. Jobs responsible for or involved in all stages of insurance claims handling and settlement including claims processing/data entry, claims customer support, claims adjusting, claims investigations and case management.

Job Purpose

To lead and manage the financial lines claims portfolio, ensuring timely, fair, and accurate claims handling in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and service standards. This role will also support strategic initiatives, drive operational excellence, and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Claims Management
  • Oversee end-to-end handling of financial lines claims including D&O, PI, Crime, EPL, Cyber, and related products.
  • Oversee Liability & A&H claim management.
  • Ensure claims are investigated, evaluated, and settled efficiently and fairly.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior claims staff.
  • Manage a group of claim handler and ensure claims are processed on a timely fashion.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Liaise with brokers, clients, reinsurers, and legal counsel to manage complex claims.
  • Represent the company in settlement negotiations, mediations, and litigation where necessary.
Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure adherence to internal claims handling procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate claims records and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Monitor claims trends and provide insights to underwriting and risk teams.
  • Prepare regular reports on claims performance, reserves, and loss ratios.
Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to enhance claims processes and customer experience.
  • Support digital transformation and automation initiatives within the claims function.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Insurance, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in financial lines claims handling, preferably in an insurance or reinsurance environment.
  • Strong understanding of policy wordings, legal principles, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in managing complex and high-value claims.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with Malaysian market practices and legal systems.
  • Proficiency in BNM Claims settlement practice.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
