The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and possess 3-5 years of relevant experience in solar PV projects. Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel is essential, along with strong communication and coordination skills. This role offers an opportunity to support project execution from concept to construction.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of civil/structural engineering experience, preferably in solar PV or renewable energy projects.
  • Experience in rooftop and ground-mounted systems is a plus.
  • Understanding of wind load, seismic, and soil-structure interaction relevant to PV structures.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a Civil and Structural Engineer II to join our growing solar engineering team. The role involves delivering detailed civil and structural design solutions for both utility‑scale solar farms and commercial & industrial (C&I) rooftop or ground‑mounted systems. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on design experience, technical competence, and a collaborative mindset to support project execution from concept to construction.

Design and Documentation
  • Prepare structural calculations, foundation designs, and layout drawings for PV mounting structures, inverter platforms, fencing, drainage, roads, and cable trenches.
  • Support 3D modeling and drawing development in coordination with the drafting team.
  • Contribute to design reports, technical proposals, and engineering specifications in compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
  • Work closely with PV design engineers and Project Engineers to ensure integration of civil/structural elements in overall design.
  • Participate in design review meetings and provide technical inputs to support internal teams and external stakeholders.
Review and Quality Checks
  • Conduct self‑checks and peer reviews of drawings, calculations, and documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Review subcontractor/shop drawings and material submissions with guidance from senior engineers.
Regulatory and Code Compliance
  • Ensure designs meet relevant codes and standards (e.g., Eurocode, MS EN, UBC, CIDB, DOSH requirements).
  • Prepare documentation required for local authority submissions and liaise with consultants if necessary.
Site and Construction Support
  • Provide support during construction phases, including responding to RFIs, conducting site visits, and verifying compliance with civil/structural design intent.
Requirements
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • (Optional but advantageous: Registered with BEM / working towards IR status.)
  • Experience:
  • 3–5 years of civil/structural engineering experience, preferably in solar PV or renewable energy projects.
  • Experience in both rooftop and ground‑mounted systems is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel for engineering calculations and documentation.
  • Familiar with Civil 3D, SketchUp, or drainage/grading design tools is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge Areas:
  • Understanding of wind load, seismic, and soil‑structure interaction relevant to PV structures.
  • Basic knowledge of geotechnical engineering and soil report interpretation.
  • Familiarity with pile design, structural steel, and foundation detailing.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to team improvement initiatives.
