Overview
BIG Caring Group, a leading retail pharmacy chain with more than 600 stores in Malaysia, seeks a curious and data-savvy BI Analyst to join our dynamic team. You will play a key role in turning raw data into meaningful insights that empower business decisions across marketing, merchandise, operations and supply.
You will be responsible for building interactive dashboards, delivering timely and accurate reporting, and supporting data governance efforts. Your work will directly contribute to data-driven decision-making across multiple business units and business performance optimization across the Group.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable dashboards and visualizations (Qliksense, Tableau, Power BI) that monitor KPIs across marketing, sales and other business performance.
- Translate business requirements into data models and reports that are intuitive for business users to interpret and act on.
- Continuously enhance dashboard usability to support better data exploration and storytelling.
- Data Analysis & Insight Generation: Analyze structured and unstructured data from multiple sources (e.g., POS, e-commerce, CRM, loyalty, app, store) to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities.
- Monitor product performance metrics such as sales data, market share, and profitability relative to competitors to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential areas for growth.
- Support ad hoc business queries with analytical insights and data-backed recommendations.
- Campaign ROI Analytics: Partner with the Marketing team and eCommerce team to assess marketing ROI and campaign attribution across touchpoints (in-store and ecommerce).
- Cross-Functional Support: Partner with the Marketing team and eCommerce team to assess marketing ROI and campaign attribution across touchpoints (in-store and ecommerce); support other stakeholder teams (merchandise, operations and supply chain) with data insights to drive business performance; assist in evaluating and prioritizing opportunities with data-backed justifications; support competitive benchmarking and market intelligence by visualizing relevant external and internal data points.
- Data Governance & Quality Assurance: Act as a data quality gatekeeper, identifying data inconsistencies and collaborating with data engineering to resolve issues; ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across platforms; promote best practices in data management and self-service BI adoption across business teams.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics or related field.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a BI, data analysis, or business analytics role, preferably in retail, e-commerce, or consumer-facing industries.
Technical Proficiency
- Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Qliksense, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Proficiency in SQL and data querying techniques; knowledge of Python or R is a plus.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and analytical best practices.

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to simplify complex data sets.
- Business acumen with a solid understanding of KPIs in marketing, sales, operations, and customer behavior.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
