Business Development Executive (Training)

The Business Development Executive will play a key role in driving the growth of TUV NORD Malaysia by identifying and developing new business opportunities, building strong relationships with clients, and ensuring the retention and growth of existing accounts. The BDE will proactively promote the company’s training solutions and workforce development programs to employers, industry partners, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, research, and target new markets, sectors, and clients for training business.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve new business growth targets.
  • Conduct market analysis to understand client needs, skills gaps, and sector trends.
  • Generate leads through networking, cold outreach, events, partnerships, and digital channels.
  • Prepare and deliver tailored presentations, proposals, and tenders to prospective clients.
  • Maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
  • Upsell and cross-sell relevant training products and services to existing accounts.
  • Monitor contract performance and liaise with internal teams and trainer to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Conduct regular account reviews to assess client satisfaction and identify new opportunities.
  • Manage potential clients and develop a solid pipeline; produce accurate sales forecasts.
  • Ensure area of responsibility is delivering to plan; identify & propose changes/solutions to drive & increase targeted delivery.
  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Operations, Sales) to align business development activity with company strategy.
  • Provide feedback on market trends, client needs, and competitive positioning.
  • Support marketing campaigns and networking activities.
  • Contribute to forecasting, reporting, and strategic planning discussions.
Targets & Reporting
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue targets.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular pipeline reports to management.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including lead conversion, retention rates, and revenue growth.
Product Knowledge
  • Stay fully up to date with developments and trends within the standards and compliance industry.
  • Confidently explain the standards development process and its relevance to customer needs.
  • Effectively match product features and benefits to client requirements to secure new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of competitor products and positioning to clearly articulate the unique advantages and value of TUV NORD’s solutions.
  • Handle customer objections professionally, using in-depth product knowledge and practical experience to provide effective and persuasive solutions.
Qualifications

Malaysia Citizen with min 3-5 years of working experience, preferable with experience in similar business.

Fresh graduates with a strong learning mindset and willingness to take on challenges are welcome to apply.

Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management (preferably within the training, education, or certification industry) is a plus.

Strong understanding of funded training, apprenticeships, and skills development landscape (e.g., HRDF) is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to open new markets and win new business.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Strong commercial awareness and results-driven approach.

Ability to build relationships at all levels.

Full driving licence and willingness to travel for client meetings and events.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools.
