A financial services company in Malaysia is seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst focused on financial reporting. You will analyze financial data, prepare comprehensive reports, and provide insights that support critical business decisions. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of relevant experience and strong communication skills in English, with proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese being essential for interacting with clients. This role requires collaboration across departments to improve reporting processes and ensure data integrity.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst to focus on financial reporting and performance analysis. This role is instrumental in compiling, analyzing, and interpreting financial and operational data to provide meaningful insights that support effective business decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong reporting and analytical experience, a solid grasp of financial metrics, and a keen eye for identifying trends and discrepancies.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on financial performance, business KPIs, and operational metrics.
Consolidate data from various departments and systems to produce accurate and timely management reports.
Perform variance analysis and identify key drivers affecting financial results.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning cycles with relevant data and reports.
Analyze trends and performance against benchmarks and historical data.
Provide data-driven insights to support business reviews and strategic decision-making.
Develop and maintain dashboards and visualization tools to present financial information clearly.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather input and ensure reporting reflects current business conditions.
Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data used for reporting.
Review and improve reporting processes and templates for efficiency and clarity.
Support data validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis of discrepancies.
Liaise with key stakeholders across departments including Finance, Sales, Operations, and Senior Management.
Assist in preparing reports and presentations for management meetings and audits.
Act as a reporting advisor for departments needing support in interpreting financial data.
Proven ability to manage stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Business Analyst or similar analytical role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is mandatory to effectively communicate with Mandarin/Cantonese-speaking clients/partners/principles.
