Secondary Business & Accounting Teacher

Teaching & Learning

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for Cambridge IGCSE Business Studies and Accounting to students.
• Ensure lesson plans align with Cambridge assessment objectives and learning outcomes.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Integrate real‑world business and financial examples to enhance student understanding.
• Prepare students effectively for internal assessments, mock examinations, and Cambridge IGCSE examinations.

Assessment & Reporting

• Design, administer, and mark assessments in accordance with Cambridge standards.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to support academic progress.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
• Prepare termly reports and participate in parent‑teacher conferences.
• Contribute to curriculum development, scheme of work planning, and resource creation.
• Stay updated with Cambridge syllabus changes and examination requirements.
• Participate in professional development activities, training, and workshops.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve teaching quality.

Student Support & Pastoral Care

• Act as a form tutor if required, supporting students’ academic and personal development.
• Promote positive behaviour, safeguarding, and student well‑being in line with school policies.
• Encourage students to develop independent learning, ethical awareness, and global perspectives.

Co‑curricular & School Contribution

• Support school events, enrichment programmes, and extracurricular activities where appropriate.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community and uphold the school’s values.

The Teacher will report to the Head of Secondary / Campus Principal.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

Relevant teaching qualifications (PGCE OR Bachelor Education) or equivalent international teaching qualification/Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
