HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organizations in the world, operating in 64 countries and territories. We aim to be where growth is, enabling businesses to thrive, economies to prosper, and helping people fulfill their hopes and ambitions.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Associate Business Analyst.

Global Change Delivery (GCD) Associate Business Analysts are central to shaping, delivering, and embedding change, working with the business and delivery partners. They handle Requirements Management, Design, Change Management, and Implementation Management. They collaborate with delivery partners and subject matter experts to gather, translate, and clarify requirements, defining design options. In systems projects, they support Software Delivery and IT Operations by translating business requirements into detailed functional requirements and designs, representing the voice of the customer and business. Their Change Management activities include early change planning, audience analysis, designing and delivering change interventions (e.g., communications, training, support, organizational alignment), and tracking change readiness, adoption, and feedback. They are responsible for Implementation Management, including planning, controlling, and reporting on change deployment, focusing on benefits realization and risk minimization. In reengineering projects, they analyze and re-engineer business processes and may lead design workstreams or teams, managing other analysts, SMEs, and resources.

What you’ll do:

  • Demonstrate strong business knowledge and stay updated on industry and technology trends.
  • Gather requirements and negotiate designs across diverse business stakeholders, resolving conflicts and challenging poor requirements or designs. Lead meetings or workshops independently.
  • Shape business requirements and solution designs, working across disciplines.

Value Creation:

  • Identify and define issues proactively, participate in brainstorming, and structure large or undefined problems.
  • Devise solutions using systemic thinking and creativity, evaluate costs and benefits, and articulate complex information clearly.
  • Align solutions with Group priorities, understand business drivers and competitive strategies, and consider risk/reward aspects.
  • Question decisions that do not align with the Group’s strategy, anticipate risks, and manage quality and service issues proactively.
  • Build effective relationships with analysis and design teams, including external partners.

Operational Performance:

  • Define requirements management processes and design detailed solutions based on business needs.
  • Assess impacts on operating models and manage requirements traceability.
  • Develop high-level business cases, considering investments and benefits.
  • Manage change activities, including readiness assessments, pilots, and deployment, ensuring effective communication and training.
  • Support process reengineering, impact assessments, and project resourcing.

Capability and People Development:

  • Identify resource needs and define responsibilities for project team members.
  • Create a collaborative team environment that encourages professionalism and development.
