Job summary

A leading life insurance company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Associate in Actuarial for Financial Condition Management. In this role, you will perform asset share and bonus reserve valuations, assist with user acceptance testing, and analyze life insurance portfolio experiences. Ideal candidates hold a degree in Actuarial Science and possess strong communication, project management skills, and a good understanding of the insurance industry. Role
  • Perform asset share and bonus reserve valuation study.
  • Prepare bonus recommendations for Participating policyholders and necessary regulatory submissions.
  • Perform user acceptance test (UAT) for Prophet modelling.
  • Assist with system set-up and perform UAT in the relevant life systems for bonus revision and interest rate updates.
  • Prepare and submit relevant reports to internal parties (e.g. Monthly Expense Allocation and Quarterly Expense Monitoring).
  • Provide technical support for policy miscellaneous calculation.
  • Perform annual review of internal policies.
  • Ensure that standard operating procedure (SOP) are up-to-date.
  • Analyse and monitor experience of life insurance portfolio (e.g. Claims, Persistency).
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlight any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practice.
  • Other responsibilities entailed.
Person
  • Degree in Actuarial Science.
  • Fresh graduate to approximately 2 years working experience.
  • Good understanding of the insurance industry.
  • Good communication, project management and time management skills, and possess good problem solving ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and programming language.
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
