Assistant Vice President, Health Solutions

We're hiring! We are looking for an Assistant Vice President to join our Health Solutions broking team in KL, Malaysia. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from the office.

What the day will look like
Renewal & Remarketing
  • Review and negotiate renewal terms with clients and insurers.
  • Prepare renewal proposals and conduct claims analysis.
  • Lead pre-renewal and renewal meetings with clients to ensure alignment on terms and expectations.
  • Draft and finalize Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Present benefits programs to employees, ensuring clear communication and engagement.
Day-to-Day Operations
  • Monitor and update employee movement information provided by clients.
  • Follow up on underwriting requirements and ensure timely submission.
  • Handle inquiries from HR teams and employees, providing accurate and timely responses.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure prompt payment.
  • Serve as the escalation point for client queries and feedback, ensuring resolution and client satisfaction.
People Management
  • Lead and manage a team of managers and executives, fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and mentorship to direct reports in their daily responsibilities.
Other Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Achieve Operational Excellence KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in business development activities, including lead generation and client engagement.
  • Support and execute regional and local initiatives as required.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Preferably from a broking or insurance background with proven expertise in employee benefits consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large and complex employee benefits portfolios.
  • Strong end-to-end understanding of employee benefits, including plan design, renewals, negotiations, ongoing servicing, and handling escalations effectively.
  • Skilled in managing client expectations, navigating challenging conversations, and delivering practical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, manage heavy workloads, and coordinate multiple stakeholders while maintaining service quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of developing talent and leading by example.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and public relations skills; able to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
