Job description
Responsibilities
  • Interpret design specifications, and translate into implementable components .
  • Decompose business processes and functions into application functions, function flow and data flow
  • Understand basic programming concepts, standards, and best practices. Develop simple scripts and codes.
  • Conduct structured interviews
  • Organise and present information gathered
  • Understand test cases. Create test steps and expected test results based on test cases
  • Execute test and document results, and assign severity levels to defects.
  • Understand stakeholders' business needs and priorities. Relate to others concerns and objectives, & accommodate into own work priorities
Qualifications
  • Follow and execute in compliance with GEL IT processes, procedures and policies
    • Quality Management (*3)
    • Planning and Organisation (*2)
    • Night batch job support
    • Conduct walkthrough of requirements and preparation of documentation for users' sign-off
    • Identify/Analyse/Document business requirement
  • Degree in Computer Science/IT/ IS or its equivalent. Alternatively, Higher Diploma in the same discipline with at least 3 years working experience in software development
  • Minimum 1-2 year experience in applications development and experience in insurance is an added advantage
