Job summary

A leading logistics company in Malaysia is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee and manage the Company’s IT and computer systems. Responsibilities include leading IT project management, ensuring system availability, and managing IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Science, proficiency in English or Mandarin, and at least 3 years of relevant experience in IT project management and strategy implementation. This role offers opportunities to develop IT policies and manage disaster recovery plans.

Job description
I. Management of IT and Computer Systems of Kerry Logistics Group

Provide strategic leadership in planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the Company’s information systems operations.

Determine and decide on the type of computer hardware (server, desktop and laptop), software (operating system and applications) and networks that best fit the Company’s IT environment taking into consideration budget, security and availability of systems.

Develop and implement IT policies and procedures covering IT systems within the Company with adherence to the overall IT policies and procedures of Group and principals.

Hire, train and evaluate the members of the Company IT team that includes: IT Operations Specialist, technicians and help desk personnel.

Budget and monitor the Company IT Department CAPEX and OPEX annually.

Meet with Company department heads/managers to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines.

Plan and execute approved IT projects. Report to senior leaders of the Company on the milestone of the IT project.

Maintain current and accurate inventory of hardware, software and other IT resources.

Conduct annual renegotiation of services and IT cost with current IT service providers and vendors.

Negotiate IT equipment from accredited IT vendors and service providers and make recommendations on IT purchases.

Report monthly IT updates to Company and other management meetings like TOWNHALL, 1x, etc.

Maintain and update Company processes and procedures manual.

II. Ensure Availability and Accessibility of All IT Systems in Kerry Logistics Network

Perform regular health‑check of all production servers.

Perform regular health‑check of all network facilities.

Perform regular backup of all active and production databases.

Report to respective TELCO and service providers of any system or connection troubles.

Perform tabletop exercise on Kerry Logistics Disaster Recovery Plan and update the DRP as necessary.

III. Monitor and Maintain All IT Infrastructures of the Company

Regular monitoring and updating of Company IT KPI.

Maintain log and list of required repairs and maintenance of IT hardware/equipment.

Maintain log of all hardware IT breakdown.

Maintain log of all leased line troubles.

Troubleshoot all IT hardware and software issues.

Ensure compliance to IT processes and standard operating procedures that include ITSR and System Backup.

Enforce and monitor compliance to IT Information security policies.

Monitor and ensure compliance to service level agreements with accredited IT service providers.

IV. Perform Other Related Duties as Required During Working Hours

Provide second level technical support to Company’s users with regards to all IT concerns and inquiries.

Provide orientation to new users of Company system.

Train members of Company IT team on system support.

Coordinate with principal and business partners IT counterpart on IT plans and concerns affecting Global systems.

Coordinate with IT counterpart for IT Plans and concerns affecting local systems.

Research current and potential IT resources and services.

Provide network access to all staff and students.

Install and configure workstations and mobile computers.

Sync mobile devices with corporate e‑mail system.

Connect and set up IT hardware and peripherals.

Install and configure all required software.

Provide network accounts and passwords as required.

Implement and maintain passwords based on security specification of corporate INFOSEC.

Maintain Local IP address pool.

Manage active directory system.

Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate.

Job Requirements
  • College Graduate: Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Proficiency in English or Mandarin is required to liaise with China counterparts.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the following:
    • IT Project Management for software development, hardware installations, network upgrades and implementing IT services.
    • Development and implementation of IT strategies and programs.
    • Development and implementation of KPI.
    • IT infrastructure management.
    • IT policies and procedures management.
    • IT disaster recovery plan.
