Overview

Assistant Manager, Corporate Broking: We're hiring! We are looking for an Assistant Manager, Corporate Broking to join our Commercial Risk broking team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from the office.

What the day will look like

Under the direction of the Team Leader, the Assistant Manager is responsible for servicing a portfolio of clients and/or new prospects in collaboration with the Team Leader. This role involves supporting all client- and prospect-facing activities efficiently and professionally, including:

  • Regularly review client documents, analyze coverage requirements, and assess adequacy of existing cover.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurately maintained and appropriately filed.
  • Verify that all quotations, insurance summaries, and billings are correct and complete before releasing to insurers and clients/prospects.
  • Respond to non-routine and complex inquiries; follow up with insurers on policy documents, verify alignment with confirmed coverage, notify insurers of discrepancies, and ensure timely amendments.
  • Update Global Account Management System (GAMS) promptly, where applicable.
  • Monitor, guide, and counsel support personnel (operations team) to deliver required administrative and operational support.
  • Ensure clients receive optimum coverage at the most competitive rates from insurers.
  • Lead and oversee day-to-day operations to ensure client insurance needs are handled efficiently and competently.
  • Prepare and submit all required monthly reports and updates promptly to the Team Leader or Head of Department.
  • Actively participate in handling complex claims and coordinate closely with the Claims Department to achieve efficient and satisfactory settlements for clients.
  • Drive client retention and organic growth initiatives.
  • Obtain client referrals and develop new business opportunities, including cross-selling and upselling to existing clients.
  • Support the Team Leader in pursuing prospects to meet allocated sales targets.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in the insurance industry or in a role involving sales and client management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience is highly preferred.
