The Assistant IT Manager is responsible for supporting the IT Manager in overseeing the company information technology infrastructure and operations. This role involves assisting with the management of IT projects, ensuring the security and efficiency of all systems, and providing technical support to staff.
IT Operations and Infrastructure
- Assist in the day-to-day management of the IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud services.
- Monitor system performance, backups, security alerts and implement necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure the security and integrity of data through regular backups, disaster recovery planning, and implementing security protocols.
- Manage and maintain the company hardware and software license inventory.
Technical Support
- Supervise the IT support team to ensure timely and effective resolution of technical issues.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex IT problems.
- Support on-premise and/or cloud systems (email, file servers, collaboration tools).
Project Management
- Support in planning, executing, and finalizing IT projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Assist with IT upgrades, migrations, and system improvements.
Policy and Compliance
- Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
- Ensure all IT activities comply with relevant regulations and internal company standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
Vendor & License Management
- Liaise with IT vendors and resellers for support, renewals, and quotations.
- Track software licenses, subscriptions, and expiry dates.
- Coordinate renewals and service extensions when required.
