Job summary

A leading battery technology firm in Malaysia is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee local IT operations and ensure alignment with global IT strategy. The ideal candidate will manage local IT policies, infrastructure, and compliance requirements while collaborating with HQ on technology planning. A minimum of 8 years in a manufacturing environment and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technologies are required, along with fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a matrix organization with dual reporting lines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing local IT operations and supporting business needs.
• Close alignment with HQ/Global IT for consistency with corporate strategy.
• Manage and enforce local IT policies and compliance requirements.
• Oversee setup and maintenance of system infrastructure.
• Collaborate with HQ/Global IT on architecture and security frameworks.
• Provide recommendations for technology adoption and resource development.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

Candidate must possess at least Bachelor Degree or above, majoring in Computer Science / Information Technologies or equivalent.

At least 8 Year(s) of working experience in manufacturing field, experience working in a matrixed organization with dual reporting lines is preferred.

Technically competent with good analytical skills, result oriented, proactive, resourceful with a high degree of independence and perseverance.

Fluent speaking and writing in English, Bahasa Malaysia.

• Oversee setup, configuration, and maintenance of system infrastructure including servers, storage, networks, and security devices.
• Collaborate with HQ/Global IT on architecture standards and security frameworks.
• Provide recommendations on future planning, technology adoption, and resource development to both local and HQ/Global IT.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by local management or HQ/Global IT leadership.
