Job summary

A prominent property developer in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced architect with over 10 years of experience in architectural works, particularly in property development or large-scale projects. The ideal candidate must understand architectural constructions thoroughly and have a good grasp of Malaysian building codes. Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong skills in communication and problem-solving are essential. Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in architectural works, preferably in property development or large-scale construction projects.
• Good understanding of Malaysian building code UBBL is an advantage.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Job description

Responsibilities

Understand architectural construction drawings, shop drawings and specifications, and cross check with C&S, M&E, interior design and landscape drawings.

Ensure architectural works are executed according to construction drawings, specifications, quality standards (QLASSIC and company set quality standards), approved shop drawings, approved method statements, and approved materials.

Liaise and coordinate with Inspector of Work, Works Contractor, and team members.

Monitor and push for site progress, and highlight any technical issues related to architectural details. Stop any wrong doing architectural works and get the contractor to rectify the error immediately.

Attend site meetings, technical meetings, and subcontractor meetings related to architectural matters.

Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, inspection forms, site memo, NCR, reports, etc.

Assist in inspections and handover processes, identify defects, and coordinate with the Works Contractor to rectify the defects.

Job Requirements

Diploma, Degree, or Certificate in Architecture, Architectural Studies, or equivalent from a recognized institution.

A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in architectural works, preferably in property development, or large-scale construction projects.

Good understanding of Malaysian building code UBBL is an added advantage.

Proficient in AutoCAD, and other architectural design software; knowledge of BIM coordination is highly advantageous.

Excellent in communication, problem-solving, and possesses good organizational skills.

Hard working, self-disciplined, punctual, with good integrity.
