A. JOB PURPOSE
The role involves developing and managing reports using PL/SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, SSRS, and other reporting tools to provide technical support and maintenance for institutional systems that manage academic, administrative, and operational data. This includes systems such as Student Information Systems, Visitor Management and other Application systems.
B. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Analytics & Reporting
- Design, develop, and maintain reports using SSRS, Power BI, and other reporting tools
- Create dashboards and visualizations to support school leadership and operational teams.
- Automate recurring reports and ensure timely delivery.
2. Integration & Data Flow
- Support integration between institutional systems (Student Information System, Finance, HR, LMS, etc.).
- Monitor and troubleshoot data synchronization processes.
3. System Support & Maintenance
- Administer and maintain core school applications, including user management, permissions, and module configurations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Liaise with Academic PIC to configure term dates, reporting cycles, grading structures, cohorts, and academic settings.
- Give advice to the Module owner when there is any update from the iSams system and other application systems.
- Liaise with system vendors and third-party providers for escalated issues.
- Provide functional support to teachers, coordinators, and administrative users.
4. Database Management
- Manage and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases across multiple systems.
- Develop and maintain PL/SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with school policies.
5. Documentation & Training
- Maintain technical documentation for processes, reports, and system configurations.
- Provide training and support to staff on using institutional systems and reporting tools effectively.
C. JOB SPECIFICATION
Key Skills & Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong SQL & PL/SQL scripting experience (queries, stored procedures, data extraction).
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (views, scheduled jobs, DB maintenance).
- Ability to build reports and dashboards using Power BI and SSRS.
- Understanding of data structures in academic systems (attendance, grades, timetable, cohorts) will be anadded advantage.
- Experience managing application platforms, preferably iSAMS or similar SIS/MIS will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of API integration, ETL processes, and data synchronization across systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for application, database, and integration issues.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years in database management and reporting roles.
- Prior experience in an educational environment is an advantage.
