Overview

The Operations Finance function supports the Operations strategy and acts as a business partner to drive improved performance while ensuring transparency of financial performance. The role is the Supply Chain Controller for financial planning and control activities in the Trading Company within APAC Finance Operations, providing cost analysis and cost centre reporting for the Trading Company and Malaysia Regional HQ.

The APAC region is evolving towards a CBM model. The Asia Regional Hub for Operations and Manufacturing Units will be in Malaysia.

Responsibilities / Key Activities

Business Partnership

  • Proactively and constructively provide data-backed suggestions to improve Trading Company operations and cost effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to provide financial expertise, especially on costs related to warehousing and distributions.
  • Monitor budgets for Trading Company inventory, warehousing, and distributions spending.

Financial Reporting & Internal Control

  • Lead the preparation and presentation of Trading Company and MY Regional HQ Annual Operational Plan (AOP), strategic financial planning and monthly outlook variance analysis through effective control mechanisms.
  • Support the delivery of OWC objectives for Trading Company, including inventory control and optimization, payment terms, and supplier financing programs.
  • Ensure controls related processes align with global and regional policies and governance rules. Maintain compliance with internal control framework across all support functions.
  • Prepare and calculate Capital Expenditure Requests.

Cost Accounting

  • Develop and validate Supply Chain costing including taxes, duties, freight & warehousing to ensure full cost accuracy.
  • Develop and analyze cost comparisons and simulations to maximize benefits from sourcing and supply decisions.

The role provides critical business support to operations through business partnering and serves as a custodian to ensure full compliance, controls, and policies are applied.

  • Academic Program: Degree, preferably Accounting/Finance/Economics
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years in FMCG with relevant supply chain controlling background
  • Skillset: Knowledge of statutory reporting, IFRS, SAP/ SAP BPC, SAP BPC- and regulatory requirements; proactive in presenting results to management
  • Personal traits: Structured, driven and energetic, with excellent communication and people skills; able to work in a team and independently
