Job summary

A leading financial services company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced finance professional to manage financial records and perform month-end closing activities. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 1 year of experience, along with proficiency in English and Mandarin for communication with clients. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, supporting various internal and external activities.

Responsibilities

  • Update monthly schedules, journal entries, and perform month-end closing.
  • Prepare financial records and maintain ledger postings.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.

Job description

Update monthly schedules, recurring journal entries, and perform month-end closing activities.

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledger postings, accruals, and reconciling supporting documents.

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

Prepare and update audit schedules and ensure completeness of supporting documentation.

Provide required information for corporate tax computation and statutory submissions.

Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and other regulatory bodies when necessary.

Fixed Assets & Capital Expenditure

Record and update capital expenditures in the fixed asset register.

Monitor asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation schedules.

Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure proper and timely asset tagging.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

Process supplier invoices, prepare payment vouchers, and ensure timely payment according to credit terms.

Verify billing accuracy, match transaction reports.

Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Monitor and update daily cash flow position.

Administrative & Internal Control Support

Maintain proper filing of financial documents, invoices, payment records, and contracts.

Assist in improving internal controls, accounting procedures, and documentation practices.

Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial data flow.

Support ad-hoc financial analyses, budget preparation, and cost tracking tasks.

Carry out any other accounting or administrative tasks assigned from time to time.

Requirements
  • Candidates must possess at least LCCI or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Good command of verbal and written in English and Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
  • Good administration, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and in an organized way.
