Job summary

A dynamic accounting firm based in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage full-set accounts for Hong Kong clients using Xero and cloud-based accounting tools. The role involves generating financial reports, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and supervising junior staff. Ideal candidates have a degree in Accounting and at least 3 years of relevant experience, particularly with Hong Kong clients. Strong communication skills in English and familiarity with Mandarin/Cantonese are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Hands-on experience handling Hong Kong-based clients preferred.
  • Good command of written and spoken English; Mandarin/Cantonese is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full set of accounts for Hong Kong clients in accordance with HKFRS.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements, invoices, and financial documentation.
  • Generate monthly and annual financial reports using various accounting tools.
  • Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Supervise and review junior staff’s work for quality control.

Accountant (Hong Kong Clients | Xero | MY-Based)

We are hiring an experienced Accountant to manage full-set accounts for Hong Kong clients, using Xero and cloud-based accounting tools. You will work closely with overseas clients, support internal finance operations, and supervise junior staff.

Salary Range MYR 4,000 ~ 7,000 (depends on the experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle full set of accounts for Hong Kong clients in accordance with HKFRS.
  • Maintain accurate client financial records using Xero and other cloud-based accounting platforms.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements, invoices, and financial documentation.
  • Generate monthly and annual financial reports, including: Balance sheets, Income statements, Cash flow statements using Xero, Excel, QuickBooks, and other accounting tools.
  • Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for business decision-making.
  • Support internal finance operations, including: Client invoicing, Cash flow forecasting and Financial tracking.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams on: Accounting projects, Automation initiatives and Process improvement activities.
  • Use cloud-based HR systems to manage client employee records and support HR-related processes.
  • Supervise and review junior staff’s work, ensuring accuracy, quality control, and timely delivery.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who meet the below:

  • Professional diploma or degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Hands‑on experience handling Hong Kong-based clients (strongly preferred)
  • Xero Accounting Software experience is mandatory
  • Strong proficiency in Excel for financial statement preparation
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good command of written and spoken English. (Mandarin/Cantonese is a plus)
