Overview

Scope of role: Responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with local tax regulations, effective cost control measures and process improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with MFRS / IFRS. Maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses.
  • Ensure timely and accurate general ledger reconciliations and financial closing.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian tax laws, including SST, corporate tax, and withholding tax.
  • Assist in tax planning and liaise with auditors and tax authorities. Prepare and submit tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor and control operating costs to ensure alignment with budgeted targets. Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • Manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs. Work with banks on financing, loans, and treasury-related matters.
  • Implement and improve internal control procedures to safeguard company assets. Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide financial guidance to operational teams for decision-making.
  • Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.
  • To undertake other jobs assigned by superiors from time to time.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) are an advantage. High level of professionalism and accuracy in financial statement
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with excellent command of both written and spoken English is a must.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in finance & accounting, with solid exposure in regional hospitality, travel industries and or multinational corporate environments.
