Job description

Responsible for the general accounting function, including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, ledger accounts and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounts Dept. Display sound accounting concepts, independence and willingness to take up responsibilities.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions.
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
• Analyse financial information and summarise financial status.
• Provide technical support and advice on accounting issues/procedures.
• Participate in financial standards setting; assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
• Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
• Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• Assist with computing taxes (SST/corporate), prepare tax returns for filing ensuring compliance and other tax requirements.
