Job summary

A leading accounting firm in Petaling Jaya is seeking an experienced Accountant to handle full sets of accounts efficiently. Responsibilities include maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal processes. Ideal candidates possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a strong attention to detail, with a proactive approach and ability to work independently.

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and tax working experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledger by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss, and other financial reports.
  • Liaise with external authorities like auditors and bankers.

Job description

  • Handle full sets of accounts efficiently, accurately and on a timely manner but not limited to:
  • Maintain general ledger by compiling, analyzing account information and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expenses transaction.
  • Maintain and balance intercompany accounts by verifying, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other financial reports.
  • Proper filling system and documentation.
  • Liaise with external authorities (auditors, bankers, tax agents and respective government authorities where required).
  • Ensure compliance with all internal processes.
  • Perform other duties as and when delegated i.e. back up function, business process improvement initiatives and ad-hoc projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant.
  • Possess professional accounting certificate is an advantage (eg. LCCI, ACCA etc).
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Tax working experience will be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Team player, proactive, good attitude, has a good sense of responsibility and ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
