A logistics company in Johor Bahru is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee transportation activities and implement strategic plans. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field, and at least 10 years of experience in the logistics sector, with proven leadership in managing operations. This role focuses on ensuring operational excellence and service reliability.
Develop and implement strategic transportation plans aligned with company objectives.
Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across all transport functions.
Set annual business targets (revenue, cost efficiency, service level) and ensure achievement.
Lead expansion initiatives, including route optimization, fleet growth, and network coverage.
Oversee day-to-day transportation activities including haulage, linehaul, distribution, and last-mile delivery.
Ensure high standards of safety, compliance, and service delivery.
Monitor KPIs such as fleet utilization, on-time performance, cost per trip, and fuel efficiency.
Implement effective maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan.
Optimize route planning and resource allocation using technology and data-driven tools.
Prepare and manage transportation budgets (OPEX & CAPEX).
Analyze cost structure and initiate cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Review and approve major expenditures, vendor contracts, and procurement of assets.
Track profitability by customer, route, or project to ensure healthy margins.
Lead and develop a strong management team and ground operations workforce.
Establish clear performance standards and provide training, coaching, and career development.
Promote a positive, safe, and performance-oriented work culture.
Build strong relationships with key clients, vendors, and business partners.
Ensure service reliability, quick issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with internal departments (BD, Warehouse, Finance, HR) to ensure operational synergy.
Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 10 years of experience in transport/logistics, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
Proven leadership in large-scale fleet or distribution management.
Strong analytical, strategic, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
