Job summary

A leading distribution company in Johor Bahru is seeking an experienced accountant to manage full sets of accounts, prepare monthly bank reconciliations, and support the finance team during closing activities. The ideal candidate holds a diploma or degree in accounting, possesses 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, and is familiar with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. This position offers a standard workweek from Monday to Friday with weekends and public holidays off.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance role, preferably in retail or telecommunication.
  • Knowledge of accounting software and strong Excel skills.
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Handle full set of accounts and ensure accurate data entry.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and financial statements.
  • Support the Finance Manager in month-end closing activities.

Job description

Mars Mobile Distribution – Taman Molek, Johor

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle full set of accounts (AR, AP, GL) and ensure timely and accurate data entry.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
  • Process supplier invoices, staff claims, petty cash, and payments accurately.
  • Verify and process dealer or branch sales reports, commissions, and expenses.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Support the Finance Manager in monthly and year-end closing activities一覧.
  • Prepare supporting schedules for audit and tax submission.
  • Ensure all accounting records are maintained in accordance with accounting standards (MFRS).
  • Assist in monitoring company budgets and expenses to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Support management in cash flow monitoring and fund management activities.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 2‑3 years of working experience in accounting or finance role, preferably in retail or telecommunication industry.
  • Knowledge of accounting software (AutoCount would be an advantage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, GST/SST, and payroll basics.
  • Strong attention to detail and good time management skills.
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Mandarin speaker would add more advantages due to the nature of business dealing with Chinese clients worldwide.
Additional Preferred Skills
  • Experience in handling branch or outlet accounting.
  • Familiarity with inventory reconciliation and sales reporting.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Working Hours
  • Working Hours: 9AM - 6PM.
  • Working days: Monday to Friday.
  • Off every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday.
