Job description

MCKL invites applications from an experienced academic leader with a strong vision for quality education to lead our Pre-University and Transfer Programmes. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing academic standards, regulatory compliance, and sustainable programme development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and governance oversight for academic departments and programme delivery.
  • Ensure full compliance with MOHE, MQA, and internal quality management systems.
  • Lead academic quality assurance, continuous quality improvement (CQI), and teaching excellence initiatives.
  • Oversee academic workforce planning, capability development, and succession planning.
  • Drive programme development, accreditation, review, and portfolio growth aligned with market and student progression needs.
  • Establish and manage strategic academic partnerships, including articulation and degree transfer arrangements.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Enrolment & Admissions, CPD, and HR to support programme growth and sustainability.
  • Mentor Heads of Department and academic leaders to achieve institutional KPIs and performance outcomes.
  • Chair key academic committees and represent the institution in academic and regulatory engagements.
  • Undertake teaching responsibilities where appropriate.
Job Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant academic discipline or education-related field.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of academic experience, including significant leadership or senior management exposure in higher education.
  • Strong working knowledge of MOHE, MQA, and quality assurance frameworks, including programme accreditation and maintenance audits.
  • Proven experience in academic governance, programme development, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor academic leaders and manage cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset with strong decision‑making, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in Pre‑University, Transfer Programmes, or transnational education programmes will be an added advantage.
