Our client is a games development studio founded in 2008 - Malaysia. They are a tech focused studio with both internal IP(s) and external co-development projects. They build games over multiple platforms, primarily focused on PC (Unreal Engine). Their flagship IP Eximius : Seize the Frontline is a full serviced multiplayer 5v5 FPS/RTS hybrid squad based combat game, launched 2021 on both Steam, then the Epic Games Store. The Role

Our client is on the lookout for great full-time talents in Real-Time 3D Character Art development to join our ever growing development team. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with our core team in producing consistently believable, stylistically accurate, platform and engine optimized 3D characters in our many internal and external projects.

Role Descriptions
  • Work alongside our team and project stakeholders in constructing visually accurate and appealing assets, in-lined with the project’s visual direction, be it organic, hard surfaced, or hybrid type characters and creatures, within technical specifications while meeting calendar and milestone demands.
  • Develop convincing characters, utilizing strong art fundamentals, knowledge across multiple disciplines and software in constructing all manner of characters, creatures, animals, robots, etc. accurately, with respect to the project’s concept designs, while maintaining its technical constraints and boundaries.
  • Work closely with multiple disciplines, in designing, planning and ascertaining accurate production estimates, to identify any potential pitfalls during development. To ensure delivery of a virtually believable character, to invoke an emotional response from our players.
Team and Personal Responsibilities
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills, is able to effectively liaise over various disciplines, and stakeholders across different project and approval stages.
  • Experienced, or keen to learn and improve new pipeline and production practices through iterative development methodologies, be it traditional or agile workflows.
  • Constantly familiarizing and keeping updated with current industry standards, trends, pipelines, and software to effectively and consistently hit higher graphical benchmarks.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in 3D Software (Pixologic ZBrush, Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, etc.)
  • Experience in 2D Software (Adobe Photoshop, Substance Painter, Designer etc.)
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4, and/or 5
  • Experience in Version Control Software (SVN, Git, Perforce, etc.)
  • Experience in Game Art Asset Pipeline (High-Poly, Low-Poly, Baking, etc.)
  • Experience in Traditional and/or Agile work environments and methodologies
  • Good observational skills when replicating 2D concepts and designs into 3D assets
  • Ability to understand complex multi-state design(s) for assets needing animation
  • Ability to self assess, profile, improve, and optimize 3D assets in-game
  • Knowledgeable in a typical game development cycle
  • Proficiency in English, verbal and written
  • Experience in Cloth Simulation, and/or Sculpting
  • Experience in Character Prop Development (Weapon, Armor, Skins, etc.)
  • Experience in PBR (Physically Based Rendering) Texture Workflows
  • Experience in Stylized / Hand Painted Development
  • Experience in Unreal Material development and integration
  • Experience in in-game Asset Management
