Position Overview
The Project Management Officer (PMO) is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of construction and real estate development projects from inception to completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards while maintaining alignment with organizational objectives and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution
- Develop comprehensive project plans including timelines, resources, budgets, and risk assessments
- Coordinate and lead project kickoff meetings, status updates, and closeout reviews
- Monitor project progress against established milestones and deliverables
- Implement and maintain project management methodologies and best practices
- Ensure proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle
Budget and Resource Management
- Develop and track project budgets, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions
- Optimize resource allocation across multiple projects
- Analyze and report on project financial performance
- Manage procurement processes and vendor relationships
- Control project costs and identify opportunities for cost savings
Stakeholder Management
- Facilitate communication between project teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management
- Manage client expectations and ensure satisfaction throughout project delivery
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
- Resolve conflicts and address issues that arise during project execution
Quality and Risk Management
- Implement quality control processes to ensure projects meet defined standards
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction quality and progress
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Manage change requests and assess their impact on project scope, schedule, and budget
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management within the construction or real estate industry
- Professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, or equivalent
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction/real estate projects
- Experience with construction management software and project management tools
