Job description

Due to the growth of the business, we require an additional service engineer to join our team. The company supplies, installs, and services industrial glass toughening machines and Insulated Glass machinery to customers nationwide.

The ideal candidate should have experience in both mechanical engineering and some electrical engineering knowledge, have experience in moving machinery and recommissioning machinery, understand industrial PLC controlled manufacturing machinery, and follow preventative maintenance services to existing installations. Due to our customers being nationwide, the candidate should also be able to periodically work away from home, including some weekends dependent on work schedules. Weekend work will be offered as overtime or flexible hours with midweek time off in lieu. Previous experience in Automated Insulated Glass machinery, Glass cutting lines, Glass processing machinery, and Glass toughening lines would be beneficial in this role.

1. Installation of new machinery in UK customer facilities.
2. Undertake preventative maintenance scheduled services to existing machinery.
3. Carry out onsite breakdown repairs.
4. Keep all service records and maintenance reports up to date.
5. Carry out industrial fan services and vibration testing (training provided).

1. Mechanical and Electrical experience.
2. Welding experience.
3. HSE awareness.
4. The ability to communicate well and be confident with customers.
5. Self-disciplined and motivated with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
6. Systematic fault-finding skills.
7. Experience in the use of Forklift trucks and overhead cranes (not essential).
