Purpose of the role:
We’re looking for a Lead Analyst to own and evolve our company-wide data strategy and infrastructure. This role sits at the centre of the business, responsible for ensuring we have a single, trusted source of truth across all functions, and that our data is being used to drive smarter decisions, more powerful products, and operational clarity.
This role will report hard-line to the CPTO and dotted-line report to the CEO. You will act as the primary point of contact for all analytics work across the business—from strategic planning to triaging day-to-day data requests. You will oversee and align embedded analysts across finance, revenue, and growth while ensuring a coordinated, high-trust analytics function. You will also work closely with the EPD (Engineering, Product, and Design) teams to shape and activate our data environment.
The right candidate will not just maintain our data systems, but make our data useful , make insight easy , and make the business smarter . You’ll embed yourself across functions, champion high-quality and governed data, and help bring AI and analytics into meaningful, everyday use.
Key responsibilities:
- Take a hands-on role in delivering high-impact analysis — building dashboards, reports, data models, and visualisations that help teams across RA make informed decisions.
- Serve as a central integration point between revenue, product, editorial, and operational teams, ensuring analytics work is joined-up and high-impact.
- Create and maintain scalable processes for handling internal data requests, investigations, and reporting, ensuring consistency, visibility, and documentation.
- Identify and fill process gaps — ensuring recurring requests are documented, repeatable, and aligned with a single source of truth.
- Lead and support embedded analysts across the business, even where they are not direct reports — helping to align work, encourage best practices, and raise the overall analytics standard.
- Define and drive our company-wide data strategy — including ownership of infrastructure, tooling, quality, governance, access, and compliance.
- Ensure there is a single source of truth across all departments, with consistent metrics, definitions, and data workflows.
- Work closely with product, engineering, and design to shape and evolve our data infrastructure — ensuring it scales with the business and supports our ambitions.
- Translate complex business questions into structured analytics projects and clear insights that guide decision-making.
- Build a strong data culture — fostering high trust in data systems and outputs, and helping teams feel confident using them.
- Explore and guide the responsible use of AI tools (e.g. OpenAI, embeddings, RAG pipelines) to unlock value from structured and unstructured data.
- Strong experience constructing complex and performant queries, with an eye on scalability and efficiency.
- Proven ability to uncover insights using statistical techniques and present findings clearly and intuitively for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience as a senior or lead analyst, ideally in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
- Ability to lead by influence across teams and functions, and to mentor analysts without always having formal line management.
- Strong command of data infrastructure and analytics tools (e.g. dbt, Preset, Snowflake, Looker, experimentation platforms).
- Practical understanding of AI APIs and tools to support smarter workflows and automation.
- A systems thinker who can architect scalable analytics functions and build confidence in data at all levels of the organisation.
- Skilled communicator who can simplify complexity and bring clarity to decisions.
- Enthusiastic about applying data to improve outcomes for users, internal teams, and the business overall.
What we offer you:
- Generous annual leave policies aimed at promoting work-life balance.
- Flexibility in working arrangements, offering hybrid or remote work options based on role requirements and location.
- Matching pension schemes and/or 401k.
- Comprehensive staff wellbeing initiatives, featuring regular activities and workplace programmes to support mental and physical health. This includes discounted Classpass memberships, and custom-fitted earplugs.
- Company-led social events, team lunches, and discounts on RA merch.
- Paid annual volunteering allowance, encouraging contributions to community projects and charities you care about.
- Regular company-wide Q&A’s with senior leadership, along with ongoing virtual educational training sessions for all staff.
