A healthcare provider in South Manchester is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to enhance medication management and support the clinical team. You will be pivotal in optimizing repeat prescribing processes and ensuring effective patient therapy transitions. Ideal candidates will have at least two years of post-qualification experience in primary care and be enrolled in an approved pharmacy training pathway.
We are looking to recruit an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to work in Didsbury Medical Centre in Didsbury, South Manchester.
You will have a key role in supporting the pharmacists, clinicians, administration team and patients in the delivery of high quality, innovative and safe prescribing practices ensuring the best clinical outcomes for our patients.

The post holder will help patients to get the best from their medicines by improving repeat prescribing processes in General Practice, and aiming to reduce wasted medicines.
Other duties :
Respond to medication queries/shortages/recalls.
Lead on medication synchronisation to support patients and community pharmacy to manage patient medication ordering.
Build relationships with hospitals and care homes in order to optimise patient therapy, minimise error and allow for a smooth transition between care settings.
Support the pharmacist and practice team with the repeat prescribing reauthorisation process.
Participate in the induction, education, and training of new members of practice staff where appropriate.
Participate in medication audits and support the clinical team on prescribing projects.
Work autonomously and be capable of prioritising work, escalating when appropriate
We are very friendly, busy training practice with a list size of approx.16,000 patients. Our team comprises of GPs, Practice Managers, Pharmacists, Nurses, HCAs and a very supportive care navigation and admin team. We also have allied health care professionals including Physician Associates, Physiotherapists and Social Prescribers.
To support both the clinical and administration team in the delivery of safe, effective and efficient systems for repeat prescribing, medicines optimisation, reducing medicines waste and maximising patient outcomes.
Involvement in the training and development of practice-based prescribing co-ordinators and administrators to support improved co-ordination and effective pharmacy administration within general practice, particularly in relation to repeat prescribing systems and processes.
The role will include face to face and remote patient contact, as well as liaison with colleagues in community pharmacy, care homes and hospitals.
