Job summary
A leading financial services company is looking for a Management Accountant based in Stroud, England. The role entails verifying financial data, preparing monthly accruals, and managing fixed assets. Ideal candidates will hold ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualifications, have solid experience in management accounting, and possess advanced Excel skills. This full-time position offers a salary between £50,000 and £55,000 annually and entails responsibilities that ensure compliance with financial regulations and the support of strategic projects.
Qualifications

- Proven experience in a similar management accounting role.
- Strong understanding of financial systems and reporting tools.
Responsibilities
- Verify financial data from other departments.
- Prepare monthly accruals and prepayments.
- Manage and maintain the fixed asset register.
- Report on income, expenditure, profit margins, and hire utilisation.
- Assist with the annual budgeting process.

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum
- Verify financial data from other departments, including sales invoicing and cost reporting
- Prepare monthly accruals and prepayments
- Manage and maintain the fixed asset register
- Manage and maintain the HP schedule
- Complete financial reconciliation of stock
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and maintain full supporting schedules
- Manage recharge of inter‑departmental costs
- Report on income, expenditure, profit margins, and hire utilisation
- Analyse and report on variances and anomalies
- Collate and report departmental performance metrics
- Assist with the annual budgeting process, including attending budget meetings with heads of department and collating the budget model
- Undertake quarterly forecast updates
- Analyse performance versus budget and forecast, providing clear insights
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns
- Assist with day‑to‑day cash management
- Support external audit processes and liaise with auditors
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Oversee reconciliation of company credit cards and fuel cards
- Provide financial support for strategic projects and business cases
- Support the development of ledger staff
- ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified or part‑qualified (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a similar management accounting role
- Strong understanding of financial systems and reporting tools
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
