We are supporting a fast-growing, client-focused accountancy practice with the recruitment of a Senior Accountant. This is a hands‑on, commercially focused role for a proactive, capable individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. This role is ideal for someone who wants to work closely with clients, advise on business performance, and contribute to a high‑performing, collaborative team. The client works with SMEs, typically below £1m turnover, and takes a commercially minded, advisory‑led approach rather than a traditional compliance‑only focus.

  • Produce and interpret management accounts, financial reports, and bespoke reporting packs
  • Advise clients on business growth, cashflow, profitability, pricing, and operational improvements
  • Prepare annual financial plans and forecasts, including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, and scenario analysis
  • Hold client meetings and present clear, actionable advice
  • Lead or support team members on accounts preparation, client queries, and other ad‑hoc projects
  • Maintain a high standard of accuracy and professionalism in all work
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and client outcomes

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Positive, proactive, and solutions‑focused, with a high level of energy and curiosity
  • Can manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Qualification by experience accepted – formal ACA/ACCA is desirable but not essential; practical capability, attitude, and results are the priority
  • Strong IT skills, including accounting software (experience with Xero, Sage, or CCH advantageous) and Microsoft Excel/Word
