In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals in full compliance with food hygiene standards and regulations.

Your duties will include planning, ordering, preparing, and delivering food services while maintaining a clean and hygienic environment within kitchens and associated catering premises.

You will need to be responsive to service needs as they arise and constantly seek to improve the productivity and quality of the service.

As a Chef, you will participate in effective menu development and merchandising to maximize sales opportunities in line with the Company’s ‘Cutting Edge’ marketing manual.

All work must be undertaken in line with health, safety, security, and Company and Trust policies and procedures.

This role may expose you to sensitive circumstances and some unpleasant environmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside your team aiding the preparation of food in our kitchens and helping to deliver a great service.
• Cook and prepare food in a staff dining setting, hospitality setting, and events.
• Help drive creativity and innovation in the food offer, creating delicious food whilst adhering to the food safety policy and legislation.
• Assist with ordering and stock management, run sections confidently, and help manage junior members of the teams.
• Deliver high-quality safe food service to staff, visitors, and patients including awareness of dietary needs.
• Plan, coordinate, and order food requirements using historical data and in accordance with menu cycles where required.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 | 706/2 Catering (or equivalent)
• Level 3 or 4 Food Safety Awards
• Experience in a similar role
• Passionate about great-tasting food
• Advanced understanding of the principles of food hygiene
• Be a brilliant communicator and easily build relationships
