Job description

Commercial Manager

Hinkley Point C (HPC), BridgwaterBristol or Bridgwater – at least 3 days in the office

Are you ready to shape the future of commercial excellence on one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure projects? Join EDF at Hinkley Point C and play a key role in delivering a world-class commercial service that supports the success of a multi-billion-pound nuclear programme.

The Opportunity

The newly created arm of the Commercial function sits within the overarching supply chain function of HPC and has been set up to lead a commercial centre of excellence, ensuring a world class service for the HPC project.

As a Commercial Manager, you’ll be part of a dynamic team responsible for overseeing commercial processes, governance, and tender activities. With over 70 contracts still to be secured, this is your chance to make a real impact on the UK’s energy future. You’ll help shape procurement strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure best practice across the commercial lifecycle.

Pay, Benefits & Culture
The salary associated with this role is from £64,000 per annum. We offer flexible benefits that support our employees’ physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. Examples include: a market-leading company pension scheme, a bonus plan, health cover, electric vehicle leasing, mental health support and employee discounts.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll lead the end-to-end tender process for contracts up to £100m, from strategy and market research to negotiation and award. Your work will ensure commercial governance is met while delivering value and efficiency across the supply chain.

You’ll collaborate with legal, credit risk, and procurement teams to develop robust contracts and frameworks. You’ll also support the review of long-term service agreements and frameworks, ensuring alignment with project goals and compliance with EDF’s purchasing policies.

As a key member of the team, you’ll help embed a culture of continuous improvement, support knowledge transfer, and manage commercial assistants. Your work will directly contribute to the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of the HPC project.

Who You Are

You’re a commercially astute professional with experience managing tender processes and negotiating contracts. You’re either a member of or working towards membership with CIPS or RICS, and ideally educated to degree level. You bring strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a solid understanding of contract performance, risk, and change management. Familiarity with NEC and FIDIC contracts, as well as knowledge of nuclear site licence conditions and UK regulatory frameworks, is desirable.

If you’re ready to make a meaningful impact and grow your career in a high-profile infrastructure environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

Applications close for this role on 31st August 2025, with interviews following shortly after.
