A community-focused organization in Scotland is seeking a Finance Assistant to support the finance team. The position offers flexible and hybrid working, along with a competitive salary starting at £32,914 per annum. This role is vital to managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in the sales ledger, and implementing improvements. - Maintain the Sales Ledger debtors monthly and highlight any issues.
- Raise invoices in relation to Rechargeable Repairs.
- Perform daily bank postings and monthly reconciliations.
Cairn is seeking a dedicated Finance Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering key functions that support the Finance Departments objectives and KPIs. This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced finance environment.

Location: We have offices in Edinburgh, Bellshill, Inverness, Thurso & Irvine (with Hybrid Working)
Salary: The salary for this post is £32,914 per annum rising to £34,647 on successful completion of 6-month probationary period. Salary Note: All salaries at Cairn are under a standard benchmarking review and could be subject to change in April 2026
Work pattern: Full-time (34.5 hours per week), 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
- Maintain the Sales Ledger debtors monthly and highlight any issues in line with financial standards and KPI’s
- Raise invoices in relation to Rechargeable Repairs
- Daily bank postings and monthly reconciliations of all Cairn bank accounts
- Daily reconciliations for AllPay control and rent suspense accounts
- Rent control reconciliations
- Manage the prepaid cards portal, posting of all transactions and monthly reconciliations
- Reconcile supplier statements and deal with any supplier queries
- Suggest and implement streamlining and improvement initiatives for the finance team
- Provide cover during holiday/sick leave for other Finance Assistants to ensure there is no break in services provided during absences, planned or otherwise.
