Job summary
A construction staffing agency is looking for an experienced Site Supervisor in Manchester to oversee highways works. The role includes managing site activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and coordinating subcontractors. Ideal candidates will have previous experience in civil engineering and necessary certifications. This position is critical for ensuring project delivers on time and to specifications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor in highways or civil engineering.
- Valid CSCS card and SSSTS/SMSTS certificate required.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations essential.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate site activities on live highways projects.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation.
- Manage operatives, subcontractors, plant, and materials.
Skills
Education
As a Site Supervisor, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of highways works on site. You will ensure that safety, quality, and productivity standards are maintained while coordinating operatives and subcontractors to deliver works on time and to specification.
- Supervise and coordinate site activities on live highways projects
- Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and company policies
- Manage operatives, subcontractors, plant, and materials
- Monitor progress and quality of works, reporting to the Site Agent/Manager
- Maintain accurate site records and documentation
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor in highways or civil engineering
- Valid CSCS card and SSSTS/SMSTS certificate
- Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and CDM
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- NRSWA accreditation desirable
