Overview

The role is a pivotal role within SW9 Community Housing. We are committed to delivering an outstanding customer experience. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Estates Manager to take a leading role in delivering high-quality estate services across our housing portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in estate or facilities management within the housing or property sector, with a proven track record of maintaining safe, clean, and well-managed communal environments. You will have excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of managing in-house teams, while also overseeing external contractors to ensure high standards and value for money. A solid understanding of health and safety compliance, contract management, and customer service excellence is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Lead delivery of high-quality estate services across the housing portfolio.
  • Manage in-house teams and external contractors to ensure safety, cleanliness and value for money.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, contract management, and customer service standards.
  • Develop and monitor service delivery improvements and performance against targets.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree-level education or equivalent through relevant training/experience.
  • Relevant housing qualifications - CIH (Level 4 desirable).
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in social housing.
  • Management experience in Housing and Estate Management.
  • Experience of Estate Management within Social Housing (desirable).
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
  • Excellent customer focus, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong leadership, people management, and ability to manage performance to meet targets.
  • Experience with service charge setting and recovery.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changes, and remain resilient.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to tailor to different audiences.
