Job description

Are you looking for a meaningful career? Would you like the opportunity to become a Team Leader, helping individuals with learning disabilities live the best life possible?

As a Team Leader for our Supported Living services at Hft Gloucestershire (Stroud), you will support adults with learning disabilities to live their best lives. Working alongside the Service Manager and Deputy Service Manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and nurturing staff, ensuring high-quality support services. This role offers excellent opportunities for career progression and skill development.

Hft is a charity dedicated to supporting adults with learning disabilities. We believe everyone should live within their community with the necessary support and choices to lead fulfilling lives. We seek caring, compassionate individuals who align with our values.

What’s in it for you?

We provide comprehensive induction, training, and support. With Skills for Care accreditation, we invest in your professional growth, equipping you with the skills needed to support individuals effectively.

As a 'Gold' standard Investors in People employer, we prioritize colleague wellbeing. All employees have access to TELUS Health, a 24/7 confidential counselling and support service, free of charge.

We offer

  • Annual Leave: 33 days (including 8 statutory bank holidays)
  • Apprenticeships: Fully funded Level 3 Diploma in Leadership and Management within 12-18 months
  • Training: Award-winning development programs
  • Wagestream: Flexible access to earned wages via an app
  • Aviva Digicare +: Wellbeing services including health checks, Digital GP, and mental health support
  • TELUS Health: Confidential counselling and helpline available 24/7
  • Discounted mobile plans: Up to 30% off Vodafone contracts
  • Care Friends: Employee referral program to earn rewards for successful hires
  • Free life assurance: 3 times your annual salary

About the role

About you

  • Experience leading shifts, motivating, coaching, and mentoring teams
  • Knowledge of legislation and guidance related to adults with learning disabilities, safeguarding, health and safety, and positive behavioural support
  • Good IT skills and record-keeping experience
  • Level 2 Diploma in Adult Social Care; willingness to undertake Level 3 within an agreed timeframe
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and role-model performance

As a Team Leader, you will work with the Service Manager/Deputy Service Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory, legislative, and contractual standards.

You will spend approximately 80% of your time on shift, coaching and mentoring staff, supporting their development, and ensuring quality care. You will foster a culture of collaboration, promoting community involvement, independence, and personal expression for those supported.

You will act as a role model, ensuring health, safety, and wellbeing standards are upheld, and supporting individuals to participate fully in their communities.

If you are passionate about delivering high-quality care and making a difference in the lives of people with learning disabilities, this role is for you.
