Job description

Main duties of the job

Conduct a full range of audiological assessments including pure tone audiometry, tympanometry, speech testing, acoustic reflexes, and otoacoustic emissions.

  • Perform hearing aid evaluations and fittings based on audiological profiles and patient needs.
  • Recommend, fit, and adjust hearing aids or assistive listening devices using Real Ear Measurements and patient feedback.

Provide counselling and education to patients and families on hearing loss, device usage, communication strategies, and ongoing hearing management.

Deliver compassionate and clear communication, adjusting explanations to suit the patients level of understanding and communication needs.

  • Liaise with ENT consultants, GPs, speech and language therapists, and other allied professionals to coordinate care and refer patients appropriately.

Contribute to the smooth running of audiology services, ensuring efficient use of clinic time and resources.

  • Ensure compliance with infection control, consent, safeguarding, data protection, and clinical governance policies.
