Job summary
A reputable construction firm in Essex is seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to oversee all commercial aspects of projects. The role involves managing procurement, valuations, and final accounts, ensuring cost control, and supporting regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in the construction industry, particularly in Passive Fire Protection or related fields, along with excellent communication, negotiation skills, and commercial acumen. This permanent position offers a competitive salary and a bonus scheme.

Site Operative Solutions Limited have an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager in Brentwood.
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager
Duration: Permanent
- Managing all commercial aspects of assigned projects, including procurement, valuations, change control, and final accounts
- Ensuring accurate cost control, forecasting, and reporting
- Working closely with Contract Managers, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Identifying and implementing process improvements and commercial best practice
- Supporting compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
- Proven experience within the construction industry, ideally in Passive Fire Protection, however this is not restricted, M&E or drylining would be the closest trade to Passive Fire Protection.
- A background in quantity surveying or commercial management, ideally within the construction field.
- Strong knowledge of contracts would help (JCT and/or NEC preferred)
- Excellent commercial acumen and attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
- GBP50,000 per annum (Monday - Friday)
