The Position:

Join MDA Space's Corporate Finance team as a Senior Financial Analyst - Accounting and External Reporting at our Brampton office.

You will gain unique space industry experience in a public company with opportunities to work on interesting and complex projects. You will work within a closely integrated team, with exposure to senior management, as well as interact with cross-functional teams across the globe.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work closely with corporate finance, shared services, and business area finance functions in the monthly close of financial reporting and consolidation processes.
• Drive the consolidation process from a financial system perspective.
• Prepare accounting entries, reconciliations, and continuity schedules in accordance with GAAP.
• Analyze data, conduct variance and trend analyses, and report findings.
• Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external/internal auditors.
• Assist on ad hoc projects as required.
• Research and articulate GAAP guidance for specific business cases, such as drafting accounting memos or position papers.
• Work on special projects, including M&A-related activities and integrations.
• Support legal entity accounting.

Job Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree, with current or near completion of the Canadian CPA designation (US CPA considered).
• 5+ years of relevant experience in public accounting, such as corporate controllership of a public company or public practice accounting firms.
• Experience with financial systems, ERP, Microsoft Office, and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong time management, communication skills, professionalism, and initiative.
• Ability to independently research and articulate GAAP guidance, including drafting memos or position papers.
• Comfortable working with minimal supervision.

Comments/Special Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level and pass security assessments for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP). Upgrade to Secret status is also expected.

The compensation range for this position is $95,000 - $115,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
