Job description

Our client, in energy sector is looking to hire a Market Risk Analyst in their team to provide support to the centralized pricing function for an initial 12-month contract. This role is 4 days in office in Calgary.

Responsibilities Include:

• End-to-end delivery of commodity pricing from data provider to aggregation point, and to consuming application (ETRM).
• Accountable for working closely with Front, Middle and Back Office staff to ensure accurate commodity pricing for mark-to-market and exposure reports.
• Responsible for adding commodity price curves and associated referential data for new business activities.
• Advance the use and adoption of open source (R/Python) and data visualization tools, data management, reporting, and analytics.
• Streamline the commodity price reporting portfolio by validating required pricing across Downstream and Finance organizations and consolidate reporting into a visualized format.
• Accountable for executing the end-to-end process for Crude Oil (Egistix), including QA/QC of forward curves, and required ETRM configuration. Co-accountability for Crude Transfer Prices in both MarketView and Egistix.
• Champion Centralized Pricing's core system: MarketView, including product upgrades, testing, and leveraging its full functionality.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a numeric field (Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics/Econometrics, Computer Science, Geophysics, Engineering) is required).
• Minimum 3 years of analytical experience (required) and in a role supporting Market Risk, Commodity Trading or Middle Office (preferred).
• Prior knowledge and use of Commodity Pricing Repository (MarketView) is an asset.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with operational knowledge in analytical or visualization tools such as R, Python, VBA, JavaScript, and PowerBI.
• Developing proficiency with ETRM and applications.
• Ability to work in a time-sensitive and fast-paced commercial environment.
