Job Duties :

The Water Survey of Canada relies on over 200 hydrometric technologists using advanced monitoring equipment to collect and process hydrometric data. Responsibilities include maintaining and measuring water levels and flow, working in diverse environments, and managing data for the national database.

Work Environment :

The agency has a long history of water resource management, collaborating with various government levels and international bodies, and setting standards in environmental monitoring.

Qualifications :

Applicants must clearly demonstrate how they meet each qualification, including education, experience, and knowledge areas, with concrete examples.

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in relevant fields.
• Experience in conducting field surveys.
• Knowledge of safety procedures, hydrology, land surveying, and software.

Additional qualifications may include specialized training and certifications, experience with scientific instruments, and operational skills.

Conditions of employment :

• Health evaluations, valid driver's license, ability to work overtime, in remote and adverse conditions, and lift heavy objects.
• Participation in training programs and recertifications as required.
