Job summary

A leading mining company in Kirkland Lake is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to ensure maintenance of heating and cooling systems. The ideal candidate will be a TSSA Registered G1 Technician with experience in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting. This role requires good communication skills and the ability to work in various environmental conditions. The position offers a unique work schedule of 7 days on followed by 7 days off.

  • Able to set priorities and work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to think logically and adapt to technological changes.

Responsibilities

  • Complete preventative maintenance on heating and cooling systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair heating and cooling systems.
  • Install new heating and cooling systems.
  • Assist with TSSA inspections on HVAC systems.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

You will report to the Surface/Mill Electrical Supervisor and be part of the Maintenance Department. You will ensure that goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.

  • Complete preventative maintenance on heating and cooling systems at the site
  • Troubleshoot and repair heating and cooling systems at the site
  • Install new heating and cooling systems at the site
  • Assist with TSSA inspections on HVAC systems
  • Complete all associated documentation
  • Carry and lift weights up to 30kg, including overhead (as capable)
  • Occasional push/pull tasks
  • Frequent walking over uneven ground, both up and down gradients
  • Frequent working in awkward positions – squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching
  • Occasional neck postures
  • Hand use in confined spaces and with tools
  • Working with heavy objects of awkward dimensions
  • Night shift work with fatigue management
  • Environmental conditions can be hot, humid, wet, dusty, cold; lighting may be restricted; noise levels may be excessive; airflow is artificial
  • Ground conditions may include wet, muddy, slippery, sloped inclines, loose rocks, and other obstacles
